Nutcracker Agreements
Dancers in Ballet 1A and higher and have had at least some dance experience are eligible to perform in The Nutcracker through our audition process.

Fall Kick-Off Event
MBC is going into its 41st season as part of the Mankato community. We invite the community to celebrate with us on Thursday, August 21st at the studio. We will have food, performances, activities and all kids of fun giveaways between 4pm and 7pm.

Bring a Friend to Dance Week
Dancers in Creative Movement, Pre-Ballet, Pre-Tap and Pre-Jazz are welcome to bring a friend to class with them October 24-30. Friends and dancers are also allowed to dress up in their costumes as long as they can still dance and move.
Halloween
We DO NOT have classes.
Thanksgiving Break
Break will run Monday through Saturday and classes will resume on the Monday following Thanksgiving.

Holiday Break
Break will run Monday, December 15th through Sunday, January 4th.
Classes resume on Monday the 5th as usual.

Presidents Day

Performing Company Concert
The Performing Company Concert will be held on March 7th, 2026. Performances are at East High School and tickets can be purchased through our website or at the door. MBC students each receive a FREE ticket with a paid adult.
Spring Break
Break runs Monday, March 23rd through Saturday, March 28th
Classes resume on Monday, March 30th.
Observation Week
MBC Observation Week will be begin Saturday, April 18th and run through Friday, April 24th. Parents are invited to attend their dancer’s classes that week to observe what they have learned, see their recital dance and receive important performance information.
Picture Week
MBC Picture Week will be begin Saturday, April 25th and run through Friday, May 1st. Pictures will be taken during regularly scheduled class time during the week. Dancers will be dressed in their recital costumes and have individual and group photos taken.
Performing Company and Ensemble Auditions
Performing Company Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 2nd. The audition class is from 12:00-2:00pm. Dancers between 11-18 who meet the requirements and will be enrolling as a student in the fall of 2025 may audition. Click here for more info. Ensemble Auditions will be held on Saturday, May 3rd from 10:30am to 11:30am.
Spring Recital and Dress Rehearsal
Dorothy will be featured in May 16th and 17th of 2026. A Dress Rehearsal will take place on Friday, May 15th. Details will be communicated closer to the event.
Last Day of Classes
Classes conclude the week of the performance. There are NO classes after the recital.
