Classical Meets Contemporary

Featuring Swan Lake and assorted Contemporary Ballet Works

In the spring Mankato Ballet Company features our Performing Company dancers in a full-length ballet.  Past productions include: La Fille Mal Gardee, Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Coppelia, and A Midsummer’s Eve.

We are very proud to announce our 2027 spring repertoire production theme will be Classical Meets Contemporary.  This concert will have the delights and romanticism of Classical Ballet in the first half which will feature an abridged version of Swan Lake. You won’t want to miss the epic “swan entrance” and gracefulness of these dancers.

Our second half will feature Contemporary Ballet works set by Eryn Michlitsch, Benjamin Johnson and Ashley Burkland. These contemporary works will bring life to ballet through play with color, tempo and patterns while creating fun and intrigue through movements that are sharper and more stylized than traditional classical ballet.

Enjoy this concert for it’s spot on classical beauty and dramatic contemporary flare.
