Summer Tap & Jazz Classes – Register Now!
Mankato Ballet Company offers a wide variety of summer sessions and classes for all ages and styles of dance. These can be a great way for new students to try MBC for a few weeks or for current students to stay up on their technique.
There is no registration fee for summer classes and no formal dress code. We hope that you will enjoy your classes with Mankato Ballet Company and we look forward to welcoming you to the studio this summer.
Summer Tap & Jazz Dress Code
Dancers attending for summer sessions do NOT need to purchased anything special. We ask that dancers wear dark form fitting clothes like leggings and a tank top or t-shirt. Please no baggie or hooded sweatshirts. Hair should be pulled off the face. Tap and Jazz shoes are HIGHLY recommended and can be purchased through MBC.
Musical Theatre Class
Dancers who love to do high school or community theater will love this class. It has tap and jazz elements to it and is great for learning how to be comfortable with dance while performing in musicals on stage.
This is a 4-day class held the week of July 10th – 13th from 11:00am to 12:00pm each day.
Open to dancers who have completed 3A or higher.
Jazz Sessions
Jazz is the study of dance and music of popular culture emphasizing strength, style and flexibility.
Beginning Jazz is geared towards kids who have completed Pre-Jazz 1 or Pre-Jazz 2
Intermediate Jazz 1 is geared towards kids who have completed Jazz 1A or Jazz 1B
Intermediate Jazz 2 is geared towards kids who have completed Jazz 2A or Jazz 2B
Advanced Jazz is geared towards kids who have completed Jazz 3A or higher
Tap Sessions
Tap dance is a form of dance characterized by using the sound of one’s tap shoes hitting the floor as a percussive instrument.
Beginning Tap is geared towards kids who have completed Pre-Tap 1 or Pre-Tap 2
Intermediate Tap 1 is geared towards kids who have completed Tap 1A or Tap 1B
Intermediate Tap 2 is geared towards kids who have completed Tap 2A or Tap 2B
Advanced Tap is geared towards kids who have completed Tap 3A or higher
